Aerim Kim

I'm Aerim Kim, 22 years old, from Greenwich Connecticut. I’m a fashion design student who studied at Central Saint Martin’s for a year, and am currently studying at Parsons. My focus is in eveningwear, and I love draping and sewing. I was originally going to be an international relations major at NYU but decided last-minute that I wanted to follow my passion for design. Outside of fashion, I enjoy writing, reading and archery. I was inspired by the moth and the idea of metamorphosis, undergoing beautiful change, starting a new journey. I found the shape of the cocoon to be elegant and gentle, and the drapes reflect that. The dress is made from silk charmeuse and silk chiffon.
