Maya Kurz

As a fashion design student, only moments away from graduating, I am extremely excited to finally be part of an industry that has enthralled me my entire life. Born in New York and raised in Tel Aviv, I have been involved with fashion and the arts since a young age, in one way or another. While I usually design street wear inspired separates, I love stepping out of my comfort zone, exploring the world of evening and bridal wear, and interpreting it through my own aesthetic. I am fascinated with traditional crafts, tailoring, and hand-made qualities. These all influenced me in designing this wedding gown. I began exploring the quality and shapes of traditional crafts such as embroidery and lace motifs and used these to create and form the neckline of the gown, creating cutouts that extend to the back and follow the lines of a woman’s body.
